Cha'Bella DonCha’Bella Don hails from the mean streets of Los Angeles, California and was an only child. Cha’Bella Don escaped the realities of the world by reading and writing. Writing poetry became one of her hobbies. Later on in junior high school, Cha’Bella Don read her first urban novel, 'Monster' by Sanyika Shakur. She took it a step further and wrote a short, short story which grabbed the attention of her teachers and they began to encourage her to write.

So here she is, ready to take the literary industry by storm and hard at work on her third novel.
Kai StormAuthor Kai Storm is a new face in the Urban Literary world. She has brought us a shining jewel called Alani’s Bigger Hustle. Kai was born in Panama in 1972 and came to New York in 1981 with her mother. She discovered her writing gift as a junior at the Boys & Girls High School when an English teacher gave her an assignment to develop a story from just one paragraph. Since then, her pen has been hot. Over the years, Kai continued to write any and everything; not only to keep her gift alive, but also for therapeutic reasons. Her pen and paper kept her sane. In December 2007, Kai was working at a hospital as a temp and even though the assignment was over the first week of December the hospital kept her on for two more weeks so that she would have money for Christmas presents. There was nothing for her to do during those two weeks so she decided to pen the first three chapters of Alani’s Bigger Hustle. Only after she submitted the first three chapters did she decide to write the rest of the book, “Just to see what I would do with it.” When she finally finished, it was nothing but fire.
“This story literally lived inside of me since I was 12 years old, it grew up with me and I knew one day it would be out in the world for all to see, it just had too!”
After having a bad experience with her first publisher, she found a publishing company that was not only ready, but couldn’t wait to sign her on. This company was Twenty First Street Urban Editing & Publishing, LLC and they along with Kai, brought Alani’s Bigger Hustle to life.
When meeting Kai for the first time, you can see the excitement that she has about her book, the confidence and the great work ethic she exudes. Kai is intense and genuine to the core. Kai always has promotional information about her book, upcoming book signings and events and anything she is currently working on, and if you are an up and coming author seeking advice, Kai will go above and beyond to provide all the information you need because in her words, “If we supported each other more we could rule the world!”
Kai is not only a writer but also a mom. In 1997 she was blessed with her first daughter who taught her the real meaning of life and responsibility. The lesson was so overwhelmingly beautiful that she had another daughter in 2009. All in all, Kai is a woman that is thankful for all her blessings and plans to continue writing as long as she can.

Jana Nicole Pauldo
Jana Nicole Pauldo, (who previously went by the pen name, Ja'Mic Taylor) has always had a love for literature. When she was a little girl, she would fall asleep with books instead of dolls. When she was in the third grade she wrote stories about her favorite movie of all time, ‘Pocahontas’. Her teacher would have her read them for the entire third grade of her school. It was then that she discovered her love for writing. She developed a love for expression at such a young age but didn’t know which way to go with it so she just kept writing. She would write in her diary, write songs, stories, and poetry. When she was in the tenth grade, she began getting out on the poetry scene in Atlanta, Georgia and loved it. "I always loved expressing myself. It was a way to escape my life for just a moment."
She continued to write and perform and it was around her school years where she wrote her first book based on fan-fiction for her childhood best friend. “I am in love with writing; I really don't know anything else.”
Jana also began hosting her blog talk radio show in 2009 formerly known as, ‘The Ja'Mic Taylor Show’ and is now known as ‘The Jana Nicole Show’. She talks about controversial issues and gave herself the name, The Princess of Literature and Poetry. "I now have something to consider myself with the royalty, ‘The Princess’- it fits me so well and I love it."
Jana's dream is to make the New York Times Best Sellers list and make great films. "I can't stick to one genre and I am not in a box. I believe everyone can have a chance. They just have to be willing to branch out and everyone isn't like that."
Jana also loves working with children and is graduating in the summer of 2012 from college with her degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also at work on short stories and her next novel, Epiphany. She plans to begin working on her first film in the summer of 2012. “The world inspires me and people inspire me as well. My family comes from Brooklyn, New York, so life wasn't always a fairy tale. I do have plans on moving back to Brooklyn next year. I believe this is truly my calling and I am going to take advantage of it." Her first novel, Naive was accepted by 21st Street around Memorial Day 2011. "It's so crazy because I was working on another book but it was when my father passed I was inspired to pen this novel. I was at my breaking point. He became my best friend and just like that, cancer took him out. I have to keep the drive in me and keep pushing forward, he would want me to. I hope my books and movies will touch people’s hearts and I hope to do something that gets me recognition in the future.” When Jana is not writing or busy with school she loves shopping, traveling, and going out.
